WHAT IS VERKKO?

Verkko is a Greek word for "Network"

Verkko is a group of closed community networks for premier B-Schools of India. Each college has a closed user group for its students and alumni where they can stay in touch with each other, share information and view jobs as well as bulk deals posted specially keeping their needs in mind.

Verkko is official alumni website for some institutes. At the same time, it also provides a platform to students & alumni of the institutes which are not registered with us. It's an effort to bring together like minded people, who have similar needs, on one platform. Verkko also intend to support B-Schools in maintaining an updated database of their alumni and use Verkko as a communication network for existing students as well as alumni. It's an initiative to serve the premier B-School students and alumni who have reached a step ahead of many others by sheer hard work, passion and ambition and because of which, they deserve something special -- exclusive services that are just as special as they are

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FORMAL & INFORMAL NETWORKS?

Formal networks are the ones where the institute is officially registered with us. We share the network control with the institute where the institute can monitor the people joining in, update the institute details, inform students/alumni about the events happening, send mass mails depending on the batch and city, systemize the campus placement procedure using Verkko's campus placement module, customize the site depending on their own requirement, do the institute branding on the site and also link it with their existing website.

Informal networks are made to facilitate the students & alumni of the same institute who want to network and exchange services like jobs and deals routed by Verkko.

WHAT ARE THE CHARGES TO GET A FORMAL NETWORK FOR MY INSTITUTE?

Verkko is a premium network for B-Schools. Verkko uses high-end technologies and has an expert team to cater to the member base. There are usually high costs involved in creating and maintaining a portal like this. But Verkko understands the constraints of an education institute and channelize its efforts to serve them in the most cost effective manner.

Yes. Verkko can be customized for any defined closed network, though the services shall vary depending on the nature of the group.

IS VERKKO A PAN B-SCHOOL NETWORK? / CAN MEMBERS OF OTHER NETWORK CONTACT ME?

Verkko provides separate domains to individual B-Schools and only the members from that institute are allowed to network within. One cannot contact a member of another network/B-School. Though, one can share classifieds across networks.

WHO CAN POST JOBS ON THE NETWORK?

Jobs can be posted by

I HAVE APPLIED FOR A JOB BUT HAVEN'T GOT ANY RESPONSE. HOW DO I GET THE UPDATE?

Many times jobs are posted by consultants. It's the responsibility of a consultant to process your resume further. The process may take a few days. You can get in touch with the concern person through the contact details given in the posting.

IS MY PRIVATE DATA SAFE?

Verkko is a group of closed communities for the alumni of premier B-Schools of India. No outside entity can access the information available. Persons who are not a part of the network cannot contact the group members through the site. Verkko will never trade personal information available on the site for monetary gains. We never allow companies or consultants to go through profiles of people. They can only post jobs and view the resumes of interested candidates who have expressed interest in the vacancy.

WHAT'S THE NEED FOR ANOTHER SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE?

Verkko is NOT a social network. We call it a value network. Though it has all the features that other popular social networks have; Verkko's real value proposition lies in the fact that it has a dedicated team working offline to bring the best jobs and deals for you. Unlike other networking sites, Verkko is a closed community portal where outside world cannot see the activities going on inside the group. Moreover, no social network guarantees you 100% authentic candidates. At Verkko, each new application to join in carefully scrutinized and verified through online and offline channels. It's not an open network and only genuine candidates get to access the privileges that are available on the site.
